Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. The CBT model focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and behaviors.
My Methodology
CBT utilizes a variety of both cognitive and behavioral techniques or interventions. It has been proven to be an effective therapy for depression and anxiety.
What I specifically like about CBT is how it brings awareness to certain, unhelpful thoughts and provides us with tools to expand our mind. It empowers clients to challenge their deeply embedded cognitions and beliefs, about themselves, others and the world. It provides the client with the skills to develop new, healthier thought patterns and new ways of perceiving and interacting with the world.
